​Dr. Mikhail Piotrovsky, is the director of the world renowned Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, which houses one of the largest collections of Western art in the world. The Hermitage was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great and has ever since been a symbol of Russian culture, wealth, and achievement. Dr. Piotrovsky will share some of the fascinating history of the collection, which is rich in adventure as in art. He will also speak of his experience as the longtime director of the museum, during a critical period in Russian history.
