The Renewal

 The Renewal

The Library Management, the Government of Israel, The Hebrew University and Yad Hanadiv have joined forces to enable the renewal of the National Library of Israel and move it to a fitting and permanent home.

The National Library of Israel, established in 1892, is unique among the great libraries of the world. It is the prime institution of national memory – not only of the Israeli nation, but also of the Jewish people throughout the world.

The Master Plan

The Master Plan presents guidelines for the renewal of The National Library of Israel during the years 2010-2016. At the end of this period, the Library is slated to move to a new building. The plan describes the goals and objectives that must be achieved in order to arrive at the new building with commensurate personnel, collections, services, processes and information systems for realizing the vision of the renewed Library and fully exploiting its potential.
