In honor of Second Passover and the Samaritan Passover, and in memory of the Samaritan High Priest, Aharon ben Ab-Chisda ben Yaacob, who passed away last week, we present a segment from the Samaritan version of the Song of the Sea from 1966. Note that the words in the song are not the same words found in Jewish texts. One can also discern the unique musical shape of the Samaritan song which is built on an interval with a relatively small range and then slides into a higher pitch. (Glissando)
