This week the weekly Torah portion is Parashat Shelach (Numbers 13), which tells the story of Joshua and the spies. Upon returning to Moses and the people, the spies report about the land that- " surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it" (Numbers 13:27)- and about the indigenous people that they are stronger than us.
”Send thou men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel; of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a prince among them". (Numbers 13: 2)
