"How many songs can you write about America?" asked Rami Fortis.
And indeed, it seems like there are an abundance of songs written about America, as is appropriate for the land of plenty.
Inspired by the 237th birthday of the "Land of Opportunity" we present the song,"America", written by Amos Etinger and Eldad Shrem. The song references a shining America in which "success waits from coast to coast" and "all you have to do is go and get it" since "the gold rolls in the streets…"
The song is performed by the Israeli-American singer-comedian, Mike Burstyn.
And how can we not include "America" from Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story" as well as the text of a Hebrew version by Amos Etinger, "It's good to grow up in America/there is everything in America/We won't suffer in America/ Everything's cheap in America"?
