The heroine of this song arrives from the city of Bursa and settles in Galata, where the Pasha sees her and wants to abduct her. She is put on trial, judged and her fate is decided. The heroine turns to her old mother and asks her to save her (or ransom her), but the mother cannot save her.
This romance is not included in Attias’s "
Romancero". However, the lyrics preserve the uniform rhyme traditional in romansa. In Armistad’s bibliography, there are no sources by which we can date this song. This is a rare romansa, and even Armistad’s catalog contains only a few versions of it.
