Visit the Eran Laor Cartographic Collection

The ancient maps in the Laor collection not only teach us what the world looked like in times past, but also about the worldview of the people who lived in those times. Visitors will view selected items from the National Library's unique cartographic collection, each of which represents ancient Israel or Jerusalem in a different manner – from a remote province of the Roman Empire to the omphalos (navel) of the world in the 15th century. To round out the picture, Jewish maps of the region and maps from the pre-state period will also be displayed.
