One of Israel’s first high-tech entrepreneurs, Yossi Vardi is the chair of International Technologies. With forty years of experience in co-founding and building numerous high-tech companies, he was the founding investor and chair of Mirabilis Ltd and the creator of the highly popular instant messaging program ICQ which was acquired by AOL.
In addition, he had a long civil service career serving as director-general of the Ministries of Development and Energy, and chair of the Israel National Oil Company where he led the oil negotiations in the peace agreement with Egypt. As special advisor to Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Finance, he also headed the economic negotiations with Jordan in 1994.
He is the recipient of numerous awards for his achievements among them the Prime Minister’s Prize for Life Achievement and Tel Aviv University’s Hugo Ramniceanu prize for Economics (2006).
