David N. Myers is a professor of Jewish history and chair of the history department at UCLA, having previously served as the director of the UCLA Center for Jewish Studies. He is, in addition, the co-editor of the Jewish Quarterly Review. He is an elected fellow of the American Academy for Jewish Research. He has held visiting positions at various international institutions.
His research focuses on the history of Jewish historiography, the history of Zionism, and modern Jewish intellectual history and he has written several books including Re-Inventing the Jewish Past (1995) and Resisting History: Historicism and its Discontents in German-Jewish Thought (2003).
