Author, law scholar and politician, Amnon Rubenstein is former president and current professor of law at IDC Herzliya where he specializes in constitutional law, multiculturalism, education and human rights. He served in the Israeli Knesset for twenty-five years where he initiated and legislated Israel’s two basic laws protecting human rights, as well as carrying out wide-ranging reforms as minister of education. In 2006, he received the Israel Prize for Law.
He is renowned for his international activities and has served as a board member and vice president of Liberal International and as a member of the Israeli delegation to the Council of Europe. He is well known also as the author of many academic books, newspaper articles and, in addition, five novels and a collection of short stories.
