Text on the back -1024;Category - Religious life;Description - A vertical format depicting a group of men and young lads wearing festive black suits and Tallitot (prayer shawls) during the custom of Hagbaha (lifting [of the Torah]) and Gelila ('rolling up'). These customs take place on Shabbat, after reading the Torah aloud at the synagogue. The Magbiha' (the lifter) is seen in the center, while two men from both sides are rolling up the Torah Scrolls. A worshiper and a young boy sit behind the ornamented wooden fence. It seems that the figures were cut out and pasted on a white background before print. [M. J.]
