Front Text - 18;Text on the back -Made in Spain';Production period - UNKNOWN;Front Period - UNKNOWN;Category - Jewish quarter;Description - This vertical postcard depicts a photograph of the Juderia (Jewish quarter) of Tétouan. The beginning of the development of the Juderia dates from 1808 when a decree of expulsion of Jews was promulgated. A delegation tried to plead their cause but it only permitted them to build their own quarters, out of the limits of the city. The postcard depicts the Avenue 'Doctor Pulido'. This one was an eminent Spanish doctor which devoted his life to the cause of Sephardi Jews and for their recognition as Spaniards. The narrow Avenue 'Doctor Pulido' is covered with arches and looks thus like a gallery. It is frequented by several passers-by. [S.H];Back Handwritten Text - (Judaica) 85
