Text on the back -ETE 60;founders, architects, painters etc. - Nemes M;Category - Biblical scenes;Description - A vertical format depicting Moses standing in front of the astonished Bnei Israel in the desert, holding his staff and pointing toward the copper snake hung one the pole. This miracle, mentioned in Numbers, reflects another sign sent from God to the people to strengthen their believe while passing in the desert. The verse 'And Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it upon the pole' [Numbers 21:9] is written below. Moses has four horns on his head, which suggests that the artist was Christian and relayed on the literal translation of And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses knew not that the skin of his face sent forth beams while He talked with him [Exodus 34:29].
