Text on the back -Editeur Jacques Saul, Salonique;Production period - before 1916;Front Handwritten Text - Louis;Front Period - beginning of the 20th century;Category - Jewish types;Description - This horizontal postcard depicts on its main left part a photograph of rich Jews in costumes - one man and four women - from Thessaloniki. They are standing in a horizontal row: the man stands in the center and on the sides stand two women. They are all elegantly dressed: the man wears a suit and a fez (red felt hat in a shape of a truncated cone) on his head. The four women are similarly dressed with a traditional outfit, composed of an antari (a sleeveless dressing gown) under an adorned apron. They also wear a bolero, called capitana, which covers their shoulders and partly their chests. Their heads are covered with a cofia (headdress). The title of the postcard appears in Greek above the photograph and in French on the right side.
