He is wearing a Tallit (a prayer shawl). All the men, apart from the elderly bearded man in a wheelchair, are dressed according to the modern fashion in Germany of the 19th century. In the room are a Yahrzeit candle, which is meant to burn for the entire 24 hours of the memorial day, and a Judenstern. [M.
