Happy new year (Hebrew).;Production period - 1899;Category - Ceremonial art;Description - The rectangular, vertical postcard depicts the Jewish custom of Tekiat Shofar (blowing of the Shofar - a musical instrument made of a ram's horn), which takes place at the synagogue during Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New-Year). The picture presents 2 men, standing by a prayer-stand and wearing the tallit - a prayer shawl that is worn during the morning Jewish services. The older man is blowing the Shofar, while the younger one, holding a prayer book, is reading aloud the order of the tekiot (different types of sounds). The German title is printed beneath the picture: "Das Schofarblasen am Neujahrsfest".
