Most of the houses in the photo are mud houses with straw roofs. We can see also some new houses, painted in white and the highest building is 'Jeordan Hotel'. Most of the houses are simple and the white houses are 2-3 floors. At the back of the photo we can see the mountains of the Jordan Vally. About Jericho: Jericho is a town in the Jordan Vally, near the Jordan River. Its name may be derived from the word meaning 'moon' in Hebrew, as the city was an early center of worship for lunar deities. Jericho is believed to be one of the oldest continuously-inhabited cities in the world, and archaeologists have unearthed the remains of over 20 successive settlements there, dating back to 9000 BC.
