שיר שכתבה הילדה חנה בינג בת ה־14 מתל אביב, שהתפרסם בעיתון "הצופה לילדים" ב־5 במאי 1949.
השיר משווה בין תל אביב לירושלים. חנה מספרת שתל אביב העברית נבנתה בידי הבנים והבנות של העם שחזר לארץ ישראל. לעומת זאת, היא כותבת, "ירושלים עצובה, כי היא עזובה, כל הבנים והבנות יצאו בגולה לנדוד..." חנה כותבת על המצב העצוב שבו ירושלים מחולקת ועזובה, אולם לבסוף היא מביעה תקווה שהבנים והבנות ישובו לבנות את העיר.
משנת 1948 ועד שנת 1967 הייתה העיר ירושלים חצויה. הקו העירוני היה קו שביתת הנשק שנקבע בהסכמי רודוס. קטע של הקו הירוק באורך שבעה קילומטרים חילק את העיר בין מזרח ירושלים, שהייתה תחת שלטון הממלכה הירדנית ההאשמית, לבין מערב ירושלים שהייתה בשליטת מדינת ישראל.
העיתון "הצופה לילדים" היה עיתון הילדים של עיתון "הצֹפה" של תנועת "המזרחי" המשתייכת לציונות הדתית ויצא לאור בשנים תש"ז-תשכ"ד, 1947–1964. קהל יעד של העיתון היו ילדים מגיל 6 ועד גיל 14.
