Jerusalem Ketubbot

 Jerusalem Art in Ketubbot

"If I forget thee, O'Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its cunning"
Decorative depictions of Jerusalem appeared on ketubot  in Jewish communities throughout the generations. These decorations were meant to express a fierce longing for Zion. This virtual exhibit displays a number of examples of Jerusalem motifs in ketubah illustrations, along with explanations.

Curator: Prof. Shalem Tzabar, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
