There is some truth to the claim that there is no real spring in Israel -- certainly not in the European sense of the word. Nevertheless, May is still the season of love songs.
"In the lovely month of May" is the opening song in Robert Schumann's "A Poet's Love". We bring you a Hebrew version, translated from the german by Ephraim Dror, and performed by tenor Avraham Vilkomirski, accompanied by Moshe Lustig on piano. The recording is from 1956. At the time, performances in the German language were generally avoided, but Schumann remained a favorite.
