The National Library collects every book that is published in Israel and documents the activities of the publishing houses in the State of Israel. As such, the library collects vital information regarding the publications, publishers and the world of the Israeli book.

Legal Deposit Department
Following the establishment of the State of Israel, a law was enacted requiring anyone publishing material in Israel to submit two copies of the publication to the National Library of Israel within a month of publication
Israeli Publishers Data
The database includes roughly 1500 publishing houses of books, newspapers, periodicals, manuscripts, music and databases.
Statistics
Yearly statistics related to Israeli publishing, translations and other important subjects.
Electronic Publications
The library also collects electronic publications: books, journals and sound and video files. The publications are preserved securely and are available to readers at the library.
