In accordance with The National Library Law of 2007 (in Hebrew), the Library’s primary goals are to collect, preserve, cultivate, and endow the treasures of knowledge, heritage, and culture in general, with respect to the State of Israel and the Jewish people in particular.
The National Library is committed to the active dissemination of knowledge and to the cultivation of an educated, enlightened, and tolerant society, by means of a variety of educational and cultural activities. The Library aspires to serve as wide a range of audiences as possible, in Israel and beyond. The Library’s doors are open to any potential user, student or not, for the purpose of research or otherwise, and provides visitors with expert guidance to help navigate the abundance of information.
