Sarah Aaronsohn - Sarah Aaronsohn was leader of the NILI espionage ring whose members acted as spies for the British in an attempt to overthrow the Turkish rulers. Aaronsohn was caught and tortured by the Turkish authorities until she committed suicide under house arrest on 9 October, 1917.
Bnei Binyamin - Bnei Binyamin was an organization founded in 1921 in an attempt to save the moshavot—rural Jewish settlements that were established in Israel at the time of Turkish rule— from impending financial crisis. Land in the moshavot, as opposed to the kibbutzim and moshavim, was privately owned. Bnei Binyamin served as the representative body of the moshavot. Many of the founding members of the organisation were the children of farmers from established moshavot, and Sarah's brother Alexander Aaronsohn was its president. The organisation itself founded two new moshavot: Ness Ziona (originally called Kfar Aharon) and Herzliya.
This poster illustrates the depth of feelings towards Sarah Aaronsohn even years after her death.
