The collection in the Jewish Studies Reading Room – the collection in the Jewish Studies Reading Room includes works in numerous languages, particularly Hebrew, English, French, German, Russian and Judeo-Arabic. The collection includes 32,000 books, journals and microfilms from all fields of Jewish studies: Bible, the Dead Sea scrolls, Mishna, Talmud, Midrash, Halacha, Mishpat Ivri and philosophy, Musar, Hassidism, Kabbalah, prayer, Jewish bibliography, Hebrew language and literature, Yiddish, the history of the Jews in different countries and periods, antisemitism, the Holocaust, the Land of Israel, Zionism, archeology of the Land of Israel, Jewish folklore, Jewish education, Jewish art, and so forth. The reading room also includes a special section providing Jewish encyclopedias, periodicals and newspapers.
Special collections in the Jewish Studies Reading Room – the Jewish Studies Reading Room houses a number of special collections, such as the Paul Jacoby Genealogical Collection and the Dan Bar-Lev Collection, a collection of Jerusalem books (including a Hebrew index), a collection of Holy Land travel books, a collection of jubilee and commemorative books from the field of Jewish studies, a collection of theses on Jewish studies drawn from various universities in Israel, and databases on Jewish subjects.
