Due to the Jerusalem Marathon & the closing of access routes to Givat Ram, the National Library will be closed to the public on Friday, 17/3/17.
Pesach Eve, April 10th – closedDuring Chol Hamoed Pesach, the Library will be open on April 12th -13th, until 16:00, with limited services as follows:
- On Wednesday April 12th, the Judaica–Middle East Reading Room will be closed, and readers will be able to take books to study them in the General Reading Room.- On Thursday April 13th, the General Reading Room will be closed, and readers will be able to take books to study them in the Judaica–Middle East Reading Room. - The Reference Desk and the Copy Room will be open on both days. The Loan Desk and all other Reading Rooms will be closed. Chol Hamoed, Friday-Monday, April 14th-16th – closed The cafeteria will be closed throughout the holiday.
On Wednesday, January 11, between 7:00 PM and 11:30 PM, due to a systems upgrade, users might experience difficulty ordering books and with searches.

We are happy to announce the opening of the renewed Archives and Manuscripts reading room, after an extensive renovation period, done for the benefit of our patrons. The reading room opened on Sunday, November 6th, 2016.
As part of our services, the Archives and Manuscripts desks have been combined into a single unit, and new digital readers have been acquired for the benefit of reading manuscripts.

We are happy to announce that it is now possible to order periodicals online, similar to the order service for books.
Approximately 800,000 volumes are now available for ordering online. You can order the exact volume of whichever periodical you need before your arrival at the Library.
Since the process has not been completed, in some cases the order will still be done through the proper form.
On Tuesday, 22.11.2016, between 8 PM and 12 AM, due to a systems upgrade, "Merhav" and "Aleph" systems will be unavailable.
Additionally, On Monday. 21.11.2016, users might experience difficulty using the "Aleph" system.

• The lockers have been supplied by the "Lockeron" company and they are their property.• "Lockeron" are responsible for use of the lockers including payment, contents and maintenance. The library holds no responsibility regarding payment or damage done due to use of the lockers.
For your information, the lockers are intended for storage of personal items, therefore please do not store in them the following items:• Books or library collection items apart from those loaned from the circulation desk.• Any kind of weapon• Food and drink
The library has the authority to check the contents of the lockers when considered necessary.

Storeroom Systems Upgrade
September 6th, 2016, orders from the stacks will be
provided up until 18:00 due to a systems upgrade for
storeroom. On Wednesday, September 7th, 2016,
orders from the stacks will start from 10:30.

The Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People will be closed between 25.8.2016-1.9.2016.
As of March 1st 2015, the opening hours at the Edelstein Collection and the Laor Cartographic Collection will be:

Due to an upgrade in the Library's computer systems, Tuesday July 14th, 2015, between 20:00 and the following morning at 04:00, all the National Library's systems will be down: the website, the Merhav system, the catalog and access to digital items.
