Guided Tours of the Library

The mission of the National Library of Israel is to "collect, preserve, cultivate and endow the treasures of knowledge, heritage and culture in general, with an emphasis on the Land of Israel, the State of Israel and the Jewish people in particular."
The public is encouraged to visit and participate in special tours that reveal the fascinating stories behind the books and other treasures in the Library's collections.

Tours provide an overview of the the Library's activities, from its establishment in the latter part of the 19th century to the renewal currently underway.
Included in the tours are a visit to the Eran Laor ancient map collection, considered one of the most important in the world, and an explanation of the Library's unique stained glass windows by Israeli artist Mordechai Ardon.
